Waterproof Gloves FAQs
Are DexShell waterproof gloves fully waterproof?
DexShell waterproof gloves use a waterproof moisture-permeable Porelle® membrane to help protect hands from rain, snow and external water. As with all waterproof gloves, water can still enter through the cuff opening if the glove is submerged above the cuff or if water runs inside from the sleeve.
How warm are DexShell waterproof gloves?
Warmth varies by model. Lightweight knitted gloves are designed for active use and milder conditions, while insulated or fleece-lined styles provide greater warmth for colder environments. Choosing the right glove depends on temperature, activity level and how much dexterity you need.
Which type of DexShell waterproof glove should I choose?
Choose according to activity, weather and the level of warmth and dexterity you need. Waterproof knit gloves offer flexible, close-fitting protection for active use; DexFuze® gloves provide a more structured fit with enhanced control and durability; insulated shell-style gloves are better suited to colder, harsher conditions where greater warmth and weather protection are priorities.
Are waterproof gloves suitable for cycling and other active sports?
Yes. Different DexShell gloves are designed for activities such as cycling, running, hiking and general outdoor use. For high-movement activities, a closer-fitting glove with good dexterity and grip is usually preferable, while colder or slower activities may benefit from greater insulation.
Why can waterproof gloves sometimes feel damp inside?
Moisture inside a waterproof glove does not always mean water has leaked through. During activity, hands produce heat and perspiration. The membrane allows moisture vapour to move outward, but moisture can still build up when activity is intense, temperatures are low, or evaporation is limited. Choosing the right warmth level and allowing gloves to dry fully between uses can improve comfort.
