Running Gear FAQs

Are waterproof socks suitable for trail running?

Yes. Waterproof socks can be especially useful for trail running in wet, muddy or cold conditions. For ultra-distance events, comfort depends on fit, temperature, duration and moisture management, so choosing the right sock weight and changing socks when necessary can be important.

Will waterproof running socks feel too warm?

Waterproof socks may feel warmer than traditional running socks because they include an additional membrane layer. DexShell running socks use lightweight constructions and moisture-permeable technology to help release sweat vapour during activity.

Can water enter over the top of the sock?

Yes. Waterproof socks protect against water entering through the sock itself, but water can still enter from the opening if it runs down from above.

Which DexShell sock is best for muddy runs?

For muddy trail runs, Running Lite waterproof socks are designed for lightweight performance and long-distance comfort. For colder conditions, models with warmer inner layers such as Thermlite may provide additional insulation.
